Do beginners play better with real world looking controllers, or are they better with the actual controller. Introduction
Have you ever played Guitar Hero with the guitar and then tried it with the controller? If so, which was easier? That's what I'm figuring out, which is easier and for what kind of player, experienced or new. Background Information
The reason for this experiment is because i have noticed a trend when playing games with my friends and that they are better without the actual controllers and that they are much better with the guitar or the wheel and i am usually better with the actual controllers, and with the new gamers, it gives them something to relate to when playing so it gives them reference on how to use the controller and play the game. One thing though is that the Guitar Hero guitar requires more coordination because you are spreading your hands and can't watch both at once. Guitar Hero 3 has also been out longer than Mario Kart Wii coming out on October 28, 2007 while Mario Kart Wii didn't come out until April 27, 2008 so some people may have it easier when doing the experiment. I think that the experienced players will do better with the controller and the beginners will do better with the real-world controllers because the experienced ones have had time playing with the actual controllers and should have no problem and the beginners will probably not be very good because of their inexperience and so the real-world guitar will give them something to relate to to help them while playing. Guitar Hero 3 with guitar and Xbox 360 controller

5 Beginner Players
5 Experienced Players
Procedure
Have each player practice for 3 minutes with each different controller on each different game
Have each player play 5 courses (Mario Kart) that increase with difficulty with the real-world controller and the console controller
Have each player play 5 songs (Guitar Hero) that increase with difficulty with the real-world controller and the console controller
Compare results between the two groups and make conclusion
